I did a volunteer stint at the Currier, in Manchester. It was the second Saturday, so there was an open art-making session. These are on the monthly schedule,(but the holidays and Escher have just ended) so it was a pleasant surprise to have so many family groups show up and participate.
I took kids and parents to the modern gallery, to see how five different artists handled their own version of abstraction/cubism/non-realism. What fun! 57 happy people trekked off to the yellow room to make their own Picassos. A great way to start Saturday.
