And Wade Continues....

Wade had looked almost everywhere that he could

Suddenly, Wade asked "Why can't I be happy? I can be happy even if I am alone." If I can make someone else happy, then I could be happy, too.:

 Who is this?"

"I am the Duck Fairy. I'm here to see that you get your wish."

"I feel funny" said Wade.

Now, I feel different, but it feels good!"

Meet Wade, the Christmas Duck, who spends every Christmas morning
making children, animals, elves, everyone
who believes in him, HAPPY.

The End
Finis
All Over
It's Done
Merry Christmas!

The Continued Overly-Long Holiday and Seasonal and Endearing Saga of Wade, the Lonely Duckling

Wade wouldn't give up he needed to see his brothers. He needed not to be alone. He needed not to be sad. He felt terrible.

But, here is someone else who could help him. Here is the Silver Sparrow

But Sam hadn't seen any ducks

Maybe his penguin pals had seen the boys

It was party time, and no ducks had come to share good times.

Things were looking so sad,,,,,,

Wade Trudges On

Wade was getting tired and he still felt lonely.
Maybe he knew animals who could help him.

Nope, they weren't hanging out here.

Wade tried again.
Wasn't like he and the guys didn't have a lot of friends.....

The turkeys were still being careful about where they went.
But they hadn't seen the little ducks.

Wade headed out again.

Wade's Story Continues......

When we last saw Wade, he was not happy.

He couldn't find his brothers. He didn't know why they left the Pond. "Wait! he said, "I'll find them. It's time to start looking for Bob and  Down."  So he did.

"Well, they're not here.  And who's that guy?"

Maybe they'll have gone over here:

Nope, they already missed breakfast. The waiter is picking up.

One more place to look.  I don't like flying so high."

"Nope....this is getting crazy.  I'll go back to the river."

And he did, but he wasn't alone.

There were boats and people and big doors opening.

But there were no ducks.

The Lonely Duck Story Part I

There were three duck brothers, all born the same week, in the same nest near the Pond.

Life on the Pond was such fun for them. If one brother was too tired or too cranky to play, there was always the other brother to do duck things with.

But then, something changed. His brothers were suddenly gone. Wade was very lonely. He was sad. Actually, he was very, very unhappy.

Continue Painting ...

It's time to consider what you'll need for this painting.
What colors, which brushes....Use not only differing size brushes, use different shapes to make
your painting more visually stimulating. It does make a difference.

Now it's time to lay in some colors. You are blocking out the overall composition. This is the time to figure out how to balance the scene while maintaining the center of interest.
.

Add some shading and build up depth in
colors. Keep adding color

Be careful not to have too much color going on the the background  Objects in the background don't share the color intensity of those in the foreground. You will need to work on them again as the painting progresses.

Refine areas that are blocked in

NOW is the time to set your piece aside; clean the brushes, and set the paint in an area where it can be recovered without guessing "Is this what I was using?"
Put the painting where you will see it several times daily. When you look at it, invert it. Check your verticals and horizontals - see that they are true. Keep looking at your painting.
In two days, it will be time for you to finish it.

A Reminder from Peg

I try to update readers asap when some of my work is out and accessible for viewing. Proud to say that the month of December has so far given me two venues. The first location is in the Community Gallery at the Currier Museum. Several of the docents are showing work for sale. Stop and look at some creative expressions (trapunto, collage, multimedia, painting). Here is my contribution to the gallery:
